TAF PAPER '24
March 14, 2024 - June 28, 2024
3rd floor Snakepit Building, 146 Campground Road, Newlands, 7780
TAF Paper is a distinctive project under the Turbine Art Fair, founded with the purpose of presenting affordable artworks on paper by selected independent and emerging artists. TAF is dedicated to fostering prominent trading and networking opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists, as well as art patrons.
The success of TAF Paper hinges on establishing robust partnerships with non-traditional exhibiting spaces in various regions to introduce the artwork to new audiences. For this year's edition, we are delighted to announce our partnership with W17 Gallery in Newlands, Western Cape.
The W17 Gallery actively supports local and international artists through exhibitions, artist talks, walkabouts, and workshops. The gallery is committed to fostering creativity within arts and culture by collaborating with artists and endorsing partnerships, such as the one with the Turbine Art Fair. Working closely with emerging, mid-career, and established artists, the gallery aims to elevate their work and practices, thereby creating an enriched workspace.
The W17 Gallery implements an interactive cultural program encompassing, but not limited to, exhibitions, talks, artist-led walkabouts, and workshops. These initiatives are designed to provide support for emerging, mid-career, and established artists, both locally and internationally, while concurrently fostering an enriched workspace.
In the ever-changing social and financial landscape of the Southern African art market, Turbine Art Fair and W17 recognize the significance of influencing the culture surrounding how art is accessed, processed, and sold. We take pride in announcing our partnership to present TAF Paper 24 at W17 Gallery Newlands Cricket Grounds (NCG) in Cape Town.
