Turbine Art Fair “Paper 2024” is a special project of the Fair that was founded with the intent of showcasing affordable artworks on paper by selected independent and emerging artists. We strive to create leading trading and exchanging opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists, and art patrons. The success of Turbine Art Fair special projects is reliant on building strong partnerships with non-conventional exhibiting spaces in a variety of regions to expose the work to new audiences. For this year’s edition, we are excited to partner with our friends at the W17 Gallery in Newlands, Western Cape.
The W17 Gallery supports local and international artists through exhibitions, artist talks and walkabouts, and workshops. The gallery promotes creativity through arts and culture as it works with artists and supports partnerships such as this one with the Turbine Art Fair. The gallery works with emerging, mid-career, and established artists to elevate their work and their practice all while creating an enriched workspace.
Both the Turbine Art Fair and the W17 Gallery recognise the need to shift how art is seen, comprehended, and invested in an ever-changing environment: from the physical space of exhibition platforms to the virtual realm of multimedia, to the sustainability of the creative economy. Therefore, the Turbine Art Fair and the W17 Gallery have collaborated to present the “Paper 2024” exhibition at the W17 Gallery in Newlands, Workshop17 Newlands Cricket Grounds (NCG).
