TAF25
Due to the unforeseen delay in the renovation and construction of the new home of TAF (the forum Hyde Park), we have taken the decision to postpone TAF until next year.
Watch this space for an exciting line-up of smaller curated events and experiences leading up to a re-imagined Turbine Art Fair 2025.
“Turbine is the important nursery enabling young artists to enter the art market since it is difficult to emerge fully-fledged and be selected by an established gallery. Many of the artists and dealers who have come through the fair are now established artists and galleries.”
– Prof. Karel Nel
TAF is a uniquely South African Art fair that brings together exhibitors from around Southern Africa to present, sell and celebrate works. The fair has become the epicenter of emerging art in South Africa. It presents a space for the showcasing of established and new talent in an environment that is immersive, accessible, and inclusive.
TAF was launched in 2013 at Turbine Hall in Newtown until 2018, moved to 10 Fricker Rd from 2019 to 2021. In 2022 TAF went underground at Oxford Parks in Rosebank. Our final move was in 2023, we welcomed Hyde Park Corner as our new home!
TAF has always been an Art Fair whose location has been at the forefront of the experience, we are widely known as a fair that takes art out of ‘traditional’ venues and into communities. It is a place for new voices, and new perspectives by making art accessible through generational relevance and supplementary experiences.
Founded in 2013 by The Forum Company, it is the first accessible and affordable South African art fair aimed at small-scale and emerging galleries as well as emerging artists and collectors working toward growing the market for South African Contemporary art. TAF aims to continue to empower, educate, entertain and sell.
The fair provides a space for a range of galleries, secondary market dealers, print studios, artist organizations, collectives and project spaces to exhibit new emerging artists and mid-career artists to exhibit and engage with emerging and established collectors.
