The Turbine Art Fair Membership Programme is thoughtfully designed for art lovers, collectors, artists, and corporates looking to gain deeper insight into the development of the art market related to emerging contemporary African and South African art. Through our established connections within South Africa’s art spaces, we offer a platform to enable members access to unique, expert-tailored cultural experiences.
Becoming a TAF Member helps to support the growth of the fair, which has, for the last ten years been the starting point of countless successful careers for artists and galleries alike.

This membership level offers a platform for artists to network and learn amongst peers – with discounted fair tickets, access to professional workshops, peer mentoring sessions, select studio walkabouts, and exclusive talks to enhance your professional practice. TAF Artists will also be the first to know about our Open Calls and opportunities for independent artists.

Our TAF Enthusiasts is a community for like-minded discerning collectors and devoted art lovers – this tier gets you a VIP ticket to the fair opening as well as a guided fair tour during the fair weekend. The programme intends to connect members within a dynamic network focused on contemporary art from Africa. Offering opportunities for them to get involved in the conversation and attend exclusively curated events, talks, and walkabouts in the company of specialists and artists. This includes special invitations to custom-made TAF events throughout the year.

Upcoming Events
The TAF Triangle Membership Programme and The Cliffside Boutique Getaway are inviting you to a comfortable urban oasis to unwind. If you will travel for food (and a good sunset), then The Cliffside is just what you need with views over Johannesburg North and Magaliesburg.
The Cliffside is a boutique hotel with just five beautifully appointed private rooms, all with breathtaking views that subtly shift in character with the light and time of day. Paul Kinsly, will be sharing his thoughts on the importance of collecting, with an intimate walkabout of his impressive art collection which adorn the hotel walls. TAF Members will receive 50% off all bespoke rooms for one night. Food and drinks will be served by The Forum Company.

Studio visit at LL Editions with Leshoka Joe Legate.
The TAF Triangle will be visiting LL Editions, a collaborative lithographic studio in Newtown, at The Bag Factory. Our members will have the pleasure of witnessing a live print demonstration of Sam Nhlengetwas
works, which LL Editions will produce for Nhlengetwa's upcoming exhibition at The Goodman Gallery, on the 1st of December 2023.

Studio Visit: Through the Lens Collective. (22 – 09 – 23)
The TAF TRIANGLE ARTISTS visited Through The Lens Collective, a photographic space in the heart of Johannesburg at Victoria Yards. Our TAF Artists spoke to film practitioners Frank Marshall, and Abigail Nel.
Our TAF artists learned about pin-hole photography, and ended the day with a practical course on the medium. We posed for a pin-hole image, (see scanned image in carousel)
Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation: OTHERSCAPES Guided Tour. (18-08-23)
Our TAF Triangle members visited JCAF for their 4th exhibition titled “Otherscapes”, curated Clive Kelner. An exhibition that captures the angst, hopefulness and darkness that some South Africans may be facing. We were guided by one of JCAFs trained staff Mulanga Mbedzi.
Youth Day Art Tour with CCAC
Open for free to all members join to us in commemoration of Youth Day (16 June 2023) with a tour of the ConCourt collection.
“The collection explores and interrogates the themes of transition, social justice, human rights, constitutionalism, identity, reparation and reconciliation in the South African context. Many works in the CCAC portray the political agency and lived experiences of the artist(s), others are more abstract and traditional, using form to evoke emotion and understanding – and to celebrate cultural diversity.”

Our members and guests went on an exclusive guided walkabout of the Keiskamma Tapestries at Constitution Hill with Nisha Merit.
This event was open to both TAF Insider Members as well as Artist Members.

TAF Triangle at Cape Town Art Fair
We are grateful to Investec Cape Town Art Fair for very generously offering special tickets to our members. Our members were taken on a walkabout around our TAF PAPER Pop-up exhibition in Cape Town and attended the ICTAF VIP Opening.
TAF Triangle take Nirox!
TAF Triangle hosted a private brunch at Nirox Sculpture Park for the pre-opening of the latest exhibition with Villa Legodi Centre for Sculpture featuring Walter Oltmann, Usha Seejarim, and Chris Soal. We began the morning with brunch at And then there was fire, and then made our way to the exhibition space where we discussed the work, the collaboration, and the exhibition with the artists.
TAF Triangle at Johannesburg Contemporary Art Foundation
Guided by the fantastic Emeka, in conversation with Karel Nel – who recently curated the Irma Stern Exhibition at Norval Foundation. Great debate was had and a lot was learned and enjoyed. We then ended our evening with drinks at Flames at the Four Seasons Westcliff where our members enthusiastically continued the conversation.
TAF x Aspire Art: Growing a Cultural Asset Class
Brilliant event with Aspire Art – Growing a Cultural Asset Class – MD of Aspire Art, Ruarc Peffers, and TAF Fair Manager, Aysha Waja – took guests through the African art market and the impact collectors have on the emerging art market.
