The Turbine Art Fair runs special projects specifically focused on showcasing emerging artists: TAF Unearthed – those who have been through our rigorous mentorship programme, TAF Talent – showcasing top graduates from tertiary institutions, and TAF Off the Grid – a space for mid-career artists not currently represented by a gallery. Founder and director Glynis Hyslop explains that “each of these gives collectors access to artists not yet in the gallery or collective world.”
We also run TAF Paper during the year – a showcase of affordable artworks on paper by selected independent artists. and have recently added TAF Capsule – considers what it may be like to rethink the conventional approach to investing, by selling ‘pieces’ of a larger artwork by a well-known artist who is often only accessible to the few people who can afford it.
