Today would have seen the opening of the 8th edition of RMB Turbine Art Fairat 10 Fricker Rd. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 this was not possible. We are, however, delighted to announce that RMB TAF will be going virtual this year from 27th August to 2 September 2020.
RMB TAF is a unique African art fair that brings together exhibitors from around South Africa and now parts of the African continent to present, sell and celebrate art, RMB TAF has become the epicentre of emerging art in Africa and will continue to be a space for showcasing of established and new talent in an environment that is immersive, accessible and inclusive even in the virtual format. The public has always embraced the ethos of RMB TAF and over the years have built a long-standing, trusted relationship with the fair, which provides a safe and curated space in which to buy art. With this new platform, art-lovers will be able to join from all over Africa and the rest of the world and will be a permanent fixture alongside the fair in the future.
Each gallery will have a dedicated virtual viewing room where they will display their artworks with interactive messaging, behind the scenes profiling of artists, and video. Visitors to the virtual RMB TAF will be able to search artist, exhibitor, or medium. Visitors to RMB TAF will not only be able to view and buy art but also take part in the extensive virtual talks and walkabout programme, sponsored by RMB Private Bank.
Although nothing can compare to the real live RMB TAF experience, we hope that visitors will join us in celebrating art, come and learn more about art and the amazing artists that will be shown and take part in what is on offer. Watch this space as we will be sharing with you all the various events and experiences that will be taking place in this new format until next year when we can come back with a physical fair and all that goes with it.
