A unique visual arts platform in the Lowveld, the White River Gallery presents contemporary fine art originating from Mpumalanga, showcasing the Lowveld as a distinct node of creativity.
The Gallery also presents broader South African and Southern African artists, exposing our national artistic diversity. We aim to focus awareness around the cultural significance of art, recognising art as a means of social, political or evolutionary expression.
Established in 2008, the Gallery is currently directed by Dana MacFarlane, whose roots are grounded in business and corporate marketing.
Dana’s lifelong passion for art ignited a career change ten years ago when small exhibitions were curated from her home. Halifax Art was formed in 2010, which subsequently merged with White River Gallery in 2017.
Over the years, this has resulted in numerous exhibitions, art projects, art fairs, and collaborations.
Our ethos is grounded in personal engagement with our clients and collectors; the journey we walk with each fuels a collective transformative experience of art.
