David Madlabane

Bio

David Madlabane was born in 1996, in the East Rand Gauteng.
Madlabane also specialises in a wide range of mediums such as drawing in ink, pencil and charcoal. Madlabane is also interested in painting and digital art.
In 2018 he was selected to take part in the Cartier collaboration with the Artist Proof Studio, exhibiting work at the FNB Art Fair where he received 1st prize for his print.
He has exhibited at Turbine Art Fair in 2017 and 2018 as part of the Strauss & Co Projects. In 2018 he received the people’s choice award.
In 2019 he enrolled for his 4th year at the Artist Proof Studio and completed his internship as a part time graphic designer and silkscreen assistant. He was also one of the finalist For The Eclectica Competition – Rationalism in 2019 and for the Blessing Ngobeni Art Prize in 2020.
He intends to practice as a professional artist and printmaker and establish himself as an international artist.
Madlabane is currently residing in the East Rand, Johannesburg.
